I love music. I think it can change your mood and I have recently found out that podcasts do too. I have grown out of my music, whether that be because I listen to the same songs on repeat or there is no good music coming out, could be both. But I have been listening to my podcast and I think I have it down to a science. Here are my top podcast picks and when I listen to them:

The Toast: Good morning millennials! Such a happy podcast that I like to listen to in the morning when I am getting ready for work even though they come out in the afternoon. This means I have to listen to their previous day's episode, but it really doesn’t bother me all that much. This is how I know anything about pop culture because I really can’t keep up. They are so cute and funny. I like them a lot because they are sisters with very different personalities so you can relate to both of them but resonate with one.

Giggly Squad: Consider this your brain rot. I listen to this after work or on long car rides. It is influencer Paige Desorbo and comedian Hannah Berner just chatting about anything and everything. It only comes out once a week, but I think they are hilarious and relatable. I listen to him when I don’t want to put any effort into thinking.

101 Essays that will Change the Way You Think: This is a new listen for me. I like it on my walks after work because it calms my mind and betters me, or at least I think it does. There are so many topics, and it is so concise which I like. Some mental health podcasts drag on and I get lost in the words, but this one is so straight forward. It has especially helped as I transition from college to post grad because the changes in attitude and mentality are drastic.

Mel Robbins: She’s cute, she’s entertaining, but I listen to her on long car drives if I need advice from my mom but not in the mood to call her. She hypes me up while also allowing me to explore how I can improve. She talks very motherly about motivation and basically that everything is okay and will be okay.

The Skinny Confidential: Okay so sometimes I think it is annoying but when I walk during the day like the afternoon or morning it is nice to absorb information about gut health, morning routines, business advice, and more. They have so many topics to choose from and interview interesting people. I recommend it a lot!
