Time Flies

People always say, ‘Time Flies when you're Having Fun.’ But I think time flies when you’re distracted. Like if I have a busy day at work, all of the sudden it is 6 pm. When I am driving in the car listening to a really good podcast that I am actually invested in, all of the sudden I am at my destination. Of course, though, when you are having fun, you are distracted. The only thing you are thinking about is the happiness you are currently in, and really, I feel like you're not really consciously thinking. When you are bored, you are consumed by your thoughts and that is why I have to keep myself busy because simply I will spiral. Back to a previous blog post I talked about happiness; however, this is not the only way that you can maintain a balanced mental health. I think if you keep yourself busy and purposeful, then you will be too occupied to become anxious, especially by problems that do not even exist. I am majorly in favor of staying busy to keep myself sane. I mean, I do love a good break but all in all, if my mind is busy my anxiety is more pushed back by priorities than if someone is mad at me or something. And newsflash, they aren’t mad.
To keep myself busy I like to journal because it gives me an activity and it lets me talk to someone without annoying them. I also give myself hobbies like coloring, organizing my drawers, cleaning out my closet, trying a new recipe, and best example of them all, Busy in a Blazer! Overall, I have found that keeping myself busy keeps me sane. What do you do to keep yourself underwhelmed? Or do you have a different way that you control incoming thoughts?
